The number of NFL Draft picks produced by a college football team is sometimes discussed alongside championships and victories as a measure of program success. Talent usually leads to championships, which is why the college football powerhouses are at or near the top of the list of teams with the most all-time NFL Draft picks. These programs also account for the vast majority of first-round picks in history.

The first NFL Draft took place in 1936, and more than 26,000 players have since been selected. There are 80 college football programs with at least 100 NFL Draft picks, but just six — Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and USC — have more than 400 all-time selections.

Despite having only four players taken since 2020, West Virginia is in the top 50 college football programs in terms of all-time NFL Draft choices. After a two-year hiatus of no NFL Draft picks, Kentucky has made 20 selections since 2019. Wan’Dale Robinson, a New York Giants wide receiver, was one of seven former Wildcats selected in the first or second round at the time.
