The NFL Draft of 2024 is approaching. Former Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis is one of the people who will be hoping to hear their name called during the three-day event. The former Seminole is attracting a lot of comparisons ahead of the draft, even though he sustained an injury late in his 2023 season that ended his season.

In order to compare prospects with players presently in the game, ESPN partnered with several scouts throughout the NFL—those who are keeping a closer eye on draft prospects than everyone else. Naturally, the quarterbacks were ranked, with Travis occupying the fifth tier.

ESPN cited Travis’ most common comparison to Tyler Huntley, the backup quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, in the article. However, Travis was compared to Dak Prescott, the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.

“He reminds me a little bit of Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott, who was a gamer and accomplished passer even if he wasn’t a very skilled passer at the time. This young man possesses a hint of it,” an insider said Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

In essence, Travis is an undeveloped prospect who has to be placed in the proper system in order to improve both as a passer and as a game-winning player. In 2022, he guided the Seminoles to a 10-3 record in NCAA football, and he exceeded that last year with an 11-0 record when healthy. Travis contributed to Tallahassee’s resurgence by pushing Florida State to significant victories.
