Atlanta Hawks in Agreement with Chicago Bulls to Trade for Point guard Trae Young.
An NBA writer has suggested that the Chicago Bulls make a blockbuster trade with the Atlanta Hawks to get Trae Young. The following trade proposal was put out by Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley for the Bulls and Hawks:
In his most recent NBA trade column, Buckley stated, “The Bulls should be all over Young if he ever hits the trade market.” Since losing Ball to a knee injury in January 2022, they have never been the same, and it’s quite conceivable that rookie Jevon Carter won’t be able to solve their lead guard positional problems. However, if Young is brought to the Windy City, the Bulls might bury their opponent with a mountain of points. Few offensive quartets could possibly compete with the combined strength of Nikola Vučević, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Young? Even though the four teams may not have much defensive experience together, offense-first teams may still dominate the NBA today. Just ask the Denver Nuggets, the current champions, who were
“Now, it’s not to say that the Bulls, with Young and Mathews (a shooting specialist who may help with some of their spacing difficulties), would suddenly be the favorites to win the championship, but why not really go for maximum competitiveness if they’re going to contend with this core? Compared to Chicago’s current strategy, which essentially entails returning the same roster that has been a sub-.500 team since Ball went down, this one certainly looks more interesting.
