In just two weeks, college football will experience chaos anew when the spring transfer portal opens and team rosters undergo significant reorganization. Tennessee football is one club that could be using the transfer site quite a bit again.
At the beginning of the 2024 season, the Tennessee Volunteers will enter Year 4 of the Josh Heupel era. With Tennessee football being in the final top 25 College Football Playoff rankings for the past two seasons, Heupel’s hiring has been beneficial thus far. The Vols, on the other hand, are aiming to return to their 2022 campaign, which saw them go 11-2 overall and at one time hold the top national ranking—their best mark since 2001. They’ll probably need to add a few portal features if they hope to have a similar level of success this season.
Now that the spring transfer portal is up, Tennessee football should focus on these four individuals.
Tennessee football was listed as one of the top five teams Oregon State running back Josh Heupel intended to visit when it was initially stated that he was going to use the transfer portal. The Vols could use some assistance with this spring transfer gateway window since running back is undoubtedly a necessity. Tennessee has a number of inexperienced players at the position behind Dylan Sampson, the starter. Freshman Peyton Lewis won’t be prepared, while sophomore Cameron Seldon may miss the first few games of the season recuperating from shoulder surgery.
Tennessee football might go after one of their previous backs who entered the portal, like TreVonte’ Citizen or Henry Parrish Jr., as Martinez probably prefers Miami.
