The Cleveland Cavaliers Agreed A $115 Million trade on Donovan Mitchell to The New York Knicks.

Rival clubs across the NBA are increasingly convinced that the Cleveland Cavaliers will move Donovan Mitchell this offseason, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line. If this happens, the New York Knicks may be interested in the New York native.

“As discussed here on multiple occasions, Mitchell will be entering the final guaranteed year of his current contract next season if there’s no extension, leading to a growing belief among rival teams that the Cavaliers will be forced to trade Mitchell in coming months if they cannot come to terms with him an extension,” Stein wrote in a blog post.

Mitchell has long been rumored as a Knicks trade target. The rumors were so widespread at one time even Mitchell’s former Utah Jazz teammate, Joe Ingles, informed Stefan Bondy of the New York Post he had heard them.

He enjoys the situation in Cleveland because our players are young and we’re just getting the core together, which he’s certainly a major part of.”

Mitchell immediately reacted, fueling talk that a trade to the New York Knicks or another team could occur during the offseason.

“For me, the most important aspect is… Mitchell told Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post, “My focus right now is on a lot of things other than that (contract negotiation).” “I’ve got to focus on myself, getting back for this group, getting through this stretch, and continuing to be prepared when the time comes.
