What to expect if AC Milans lineup is not what fans expect
AC Milan hosts Roma in the first leg of an exciting Europa League quarter-final on Thursday at San Siro, kicking off an all-Italian contest.
Milan has won both Serie A encounters this season and is unbeaten in nine games against their opponents from the capital; yet, the Giallorossi have a recent history of going the distance in Europe.
After defeating Rennes in the Champions League, where they placed third in the so-called ‘Group of Death,’ Milan breezed past Slavia Prague in the last 16, winning 7-3 on aggregate.
That continued an amazing run of success for the seven-time European champions, who last week reinforced their hold on second place in Serie A by defeating Lecce 3-0, giving them seven consecutive victories for the first time since 2006.
Milan have now scored at least once in their past 29 matches across all competitions, including three goals in three of their previous four, and their front line has clearly kicked into gear following a sticky stretch in mid-winter.
