Red Sox Pull Off Jaw-Dropping Upset, Leaving Fans in Disbelief…

Tyler O’Neill has already won over many Red Sox fans in his brief time with the team.

Unfortunately, he may have also lost one on Tuesday afternoon, owing to his league-leading sixth home run of the 2024 season.

The 28-year-old outfielder wasted no time introducing himself to the Fenway Park crowd on Tuesday, taking a curveball from Baltimore starter Corbin Burnes and hitting it over the Green Monster for a solo shot in the first inning.

O’Neill’s latest big fly seemed destined for the Mass Pike. Ultimately, it traveled 413 feet before returning from orbit on Lansdowne Street — potentially obliterating a car’s windshield in the process.

O’Neill has been an instant success with the Red Sox, hitting five home runs during Boston’s 10-game road trip to the West Coast before returning to Fenway. He became the first Red Sox player in history to have at least five home runs and a.500 OBP in the first ten games of the season.

All six of his home runs have been solitary shots, and Tuesday’s homer propelled O’Neill beyond Dodgers’ Mookie Betts, Angels’ Mike Trout, and Atlanta’s Marcell Ozuna for the MLB lead in home runs.

If he continues to perform at this level, the Red Sox’s slugging free-agent signing might land him a sponsorship from Giant Glass.
