In Knoxville, spring football is coming to an end, so let’s finish off with a couple scrimmages. Thursday night at Neyland Stadium, Tennessee conducted their second scrimmage to gain a feel for the situation before the Orange and White Game the following week.

Since some of Tennessee’s important players are now on leave or recovering from injuries, some fresh faces have had the opportunity to gain meaningful playing time. Next weekend will be interesting due to injury concerns at running back and on the offensive line, where players like Vysen Lang and Desean Bishop are vital to the attack.

In regards to the scrimmage, Josh Heupel commented, “It was a lot of fun tonight.” We chose to do a night scrimmage due to the way the timetable fell into place. It’s wonderful to be inside Neyland beneath the lights. The guys did some pretty excellent job and exuded a lot of excitement. On the defensive, I felt that they got out to a really quick, violent, and disruptive start. left the game at third downs. played a fantastic attacking game and became used to the second half of the scrimmage. Thus, great job for simply finishing the spring ball halfway through.

Every day we’ve been on the practice field, our defensive line has brought a lot of intensity and consistency. veteran group that has sort of led the way, particularly on the inside. Our edge group is still improving, and the new and younger players have assimilated rapidly and are playing at a very high pad level. They are making greater use of their hands than they ever have, and I’m not just referring to pass rushes; I also mean run games. I truly like what that bunch has accomplished.
