Ethan Utley, a four-star defensive lineman, declared his commitment to Tennessee. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound player chose the Volunteers over Syracuse, Michigan, Texas, and Oklahoma.
Utley ranks as the class of 2025’s No. 16 defensive lineman and No. 182 overall talent. According to the On3 industry rankings, he is Tennessee’s top defensive lineman and fourth-ranked player.
This season, he was named an offensive and defensive lineman for Division II-AAA West All-Region. In just nine games, Utely concluded his sophomore campaign in 2022 with 25 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks.
Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class is ranked No. 4 in the SEC and No. 10 nationally after Utley’s commitment. Along with wide receiver Joakim Dodson and quarterback George MacIntyre, he is the third in-state talent to pledge to the Volunteers.
