How a former Super Bowl MVP (not Patrick Mahomes) influenced Carson Wentz’s decision to sign with Eagles.
The Philadelphia Eagles appeared to be on track to return to the Super Bowl in the first half of the 2023 season, but a series of setbacks caused the club to plummet dramatically and lose in the first game of the playoffs.
The squad began the season 10-1, with everything going their way, and appeared to be one of the greatest in the NFL. They followed that remarkable start by losing five of their next six regular-season games, leaving them one and done in the playoffs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
There were numerous accounts that blamed various factors for the Eagles’ downfall, with some blaming specific players and others blaming coaches. Longtime Eagles player Brandon Graham detailed this week what he thought went wrong with such a potential club.
Brandon Graham simply believes that there was a lack of effective communication down the stretch of the season, and that it is not a problem that cannot be resolved.
“I didn’t think we had all the right coaches in the right places to help us with whatever [former defensive coordinator Sean] Desai’s message was,” Graham stated during an ESPN Radio interview.
“It was just a lot of miscommunication. [General Manager] Howie [Roseman] regretted it after the season, and I know he’s on it now.”
Howie Roseman intends to return with vengeance in the 2024 season, knowing that this team is extraordinary and was only a few plays away from winning the Super Bowl. Saquon Barkley was added to the roster, along with a few other exceptional players.
