ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the three-year deal is worth $66 million Eagles including $48 million guaranteed.

CBS (Philadelphia) The Philadelphia Eagles’ busy offseason continued Thursday, with the team extending starting left tackle Jordan Mailata and signing slot cornerback Avonte Maddox to a one-year deal.

The Eagles and Mailata have agreed to a three-year contract extension that will keep him with the organization through the 2028 season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the three-year contract is worth $66 million, with $48 million guaranteed. According to Schefter, the deal includes a $20 million signing bonus.

Mailata’s $22 million annual salary ranks him behind only Laremy Tunsil, Trent Williams, and Andrew Thomas as the highest-paid tackles in the NFL.

Mailata, 27, was selected by the Eagles in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He had prior football experience before being drafted.

After dismissing Maddox in early March, the Eagles re-signed him on a one-year contract on Thursday.

Maddox was cut by the Eagles as he neared the end of a contract extension signed in 2021. He had a $9.6 million salary cap hit for the 2024 season, according to Over The Cap, before being released.

During his time with the Eagles, Maddox established himself as one of the league’s best slot cornerbacks, but he was plagued by injuries.

Maddox has only played 14 regular-season games for the Eagles during the last two years.

Maddox recorded 55 tackles, one interception, five pass deflections, and four forced fumbles for the Eagles in 2022 and 2023 combined.
