Texans Have Reportedly Signed A $90 Million Trade Deal With on Stefon Diggs Adding some Potential…

Since the majority of the coverage of the Stefon Diggs deal has focused on Josh Allen and the Bills’ future, the other topic is what this means for C.J. Stroud and the Texans.

Even with J.J. Watt and Andre Johnson in their prime, this must be the most thrilled Texans fan has ever been over the offseason.

After lighting up the league with a rookie phenom at quarterback, Houston sent a strong message to the rest of the NFL by bringing in a talent like Diggs. The Texans are clearly focused on winning right now.

Diggs, 30, who just had his sixth consecutive season with more than 1,000 receiving yards in 2023, now joins Nico Collins, who recently set a career high of 1,297 yards, and Tank Dell to form a highly formidable attack in Houston. Stroud’s job will be made easy with so many weapons around him.

And, while bringing in Diggs would be worth any potential risk for a championship-caliber organization, the Texans were able to complete the transaction without giving up any 2024 draft money.

Houston merely had to transfer a 2025 second-round pick, acquired from the Minnesota Vikings, to Buffalo in exchange for Diggs. To top it off, the Texans also landed a pair late-round picks—a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025

But Houston isn’t worried about the future; they’re focused on winning big right now. This is significant for a franchise that has yet to reach an AFC Championship game since its NFL debut in 2002. All evidence lead to Diggs providing precisely what they expect. Diggs had 107 receptions for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns last season.

Trading for Diggs is a game-changing move in and of itself, but it is far from the only reason to consider Houston as a legitimate contender in 2024. The Texans have acquired several studs, including Diggs.

In addition to the four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, Houston has added running back Joe Mixon and defensive end Danielle Hunter.
