I’m Leaving Phoenix Suns for Devin Booker, point guard Kevin Durant Announce His Decision
Devin Booker is trying to propel the Phoenix Suns into the Western Conference’s top six playoff spots.
He will lead the Suns when they play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night following his seventh career 50-point performance.
On Monday night, Booker led Phoenix (44-31) to a 124-111 away victory over the New Orleans Pelicans with 52 points and a career-high eight 3-pointers made.
The Suns finished their 3-2 road trip with him finishing 19 of 28 overall from the field and dishing out nine assists in an outstanding all-around performance.
Phoenix’s victory brought them to within one game of the Dallas Mavericks (45-30) and Pelicans (45-30) in the race for the last two Western Conference playoff positions. On Sunday, the Suns will host New Orleans.
But with the tiebreaker advantage over the Suns, the Sacramento Kings (44-31) have Phoenix with little room for mistake in the closing minutes.
Against the Pelicans, Booker has scored 50 points in three consecutive games. He and Wilt Chamberlain are the only players to score 50 points or more in three consecutive games against the same opponent.
“Any time you get named for something Wilt did — it’s happened very few times in my career — you know you did something special,” Booker stated.
