Bills General Manager Josh Allen’s Remarks Regarding the Stefon Diggs Trade
To put it mildly, Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Bills, has not had a particularly interesting offseason.
Buffalo severed ties with Allen’s two best receiving options from the previous several campaigns. Stefon Diggs was dealt to the Houston Texans on Wednesday, while Gabe Davis departed Western New York to sign a free-agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
After the historic move on Wednesday, Bills general manager Brandon Beane revealed to the public that Allen most likely learned about the Diggs trade from other individuals. It doesn’t seem like the sensational quarterback was taken aback by the announcement, though.
Beane told reporters, “I did alert him that there had been some inquiries and that it wasn’t 100% off the table,” according to Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network.
Beane acknowledged that trading Diggs was “extremely difficult” and that the Bills were not improved by losing the four-time Pro Bowl pick. Despite the lack of a top-tier wide receiver on Buffalo’s current roster, the general manager voiced confidence in the team.
The New England Patriots, who likewise lack a star pass-catcher on their roster and would undoubtedly benefit from more equitable playing conditions in the AFC East, should rejoice about this development.
