Green Bay Packers: Expectations for Wide Receiver Jayden Reed Entering Year Two

Jayden Reed, a Green Bay Packers wide receiver, had an excellent rookie season last year. As a second-round choice from Michigan State, he has a very high future ceiling, as have previous second-round wide outs. Two names that come to mind are Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams.

According to Pro Football Focus, when targeted last season, the quarterback’s passer rating was 123.3, ranking first among Packers wide outs and ninth overall in the NFL. This demonstrates the potential he has. Reed runs excellent routes. He had a history of losing passes early last season, but he improved as the season progressed.

Last season, Jayden Reed caught 64 receptions for 793 yards receiving and eight touchdowns, averaging 12.4 yards per catch. He also carried for 119 yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns, with an average of 10.8 per carry. Given his rookie season performance, some believe he will face bigger expectations in his second season in the NFL.

Reed has a good chance of reaching 1,000 yards in his second season. He will most likely be the top wide receiver on the depth chart when the 2024 season begins. He and quarterback Jordan Love have tremendous chemistry, which will only improve.

They didn’t have a 1,000-yard wide receiver last season, but they do have a very talented wide receiver group, including Reed. Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson also have the potential to reach 1,000 yards this season. Dontayvion Wicks will most likely be the fourth wide receiver on the depth chart heading into training camp.

Jayden Reed is also versatile in that he may be employed in the game plan to receive handoffs in the backfield or to run jet sweep plays. Reed has the potential to be a top-ten wide receiver in the NFL this season. He also excels at lining up in the slot and on the outside. Don’t be surprised if Reed is mentioned a lot next season.
