Lewis Hamilton’s renowned F1 physiotherapist wins an unexpected new gig with Kiwi racer.

Angela Cullen, Lewis Hamilton’s former physiotherapist, has made her first public appearance since splitting with the seven-time Formula One world champion.

Hamilton and Cullen spent seven years together before parting ways at the start of the 2023 season.

Cullen, who played hockey for New Zealand as a youth and into her early twenties, stated that she will take on new challenges.

Cullen was originally observed training alongside Kiwi compatriot Marcus Armstrong at a non-championship Thermal Club event.

The Chip Ganassi Racing driver is in his first full-time IndyCar season and says working with the high-performance coach has already made a difference for him.

“She’s a Kiwi as well, so we linked up over the off-season and so far so good,” Armstrong went on to say.

“I’ve finally gained some weight. These automobiles are like animals to drive, so you have to be in top shape to maneuver them.

“She’s been a great help to me and we’re just trying to progress through to win some races.”

Armstrong did not finish the season opening in St Petersburg, although he was running competitively on the edge of the top ten before his sad death.

He finished fifth in the $1 Million Challenge race, earning $76,640.

Armstrong stated that Cullen’s influence stems from his desire to gain an advantage over his competitors.

“It’s the one-percenters in this sport because everyone is at such a high level,” he said.

“Being in good physical shape is certainly part of it; that is no mystery, but it’s the little things.

“It’s how to get your mind on top of it all and eliminate those distractions and get those results.”

Armstrong, 23, was a member of Ferrari’s driver program and tested with the F1 team during his stint in Formula 2.

He won rookie of the year in the 2023 IndyCar Series despite missing five oval races.
