I’m Leaving Red Sox for catcher Connor Wong, pitcher Tanner Houck Announce His Decision
In 2022, Trevor Story was signed by the Boston Red Sox. In his two seasons in Beantown, he has only appeared in 137 games.
While he was a member of the Rockies from 2016 to 21, Story was considered a superb player; his play with the Red Sox was not at the same caliber.
Story was a Rockie who was voted Rookie of the Year, won two Silver Sluggers, was selected to two All-Star teams, and received MVP votes in three different seasons. He’s batted since getting to Boston.227, 287, and 398. Fans of the Red Sox have never seen Story regularly live up to the expectations.
Numerous reporters and Red Sox coaches have projected that Story will have a fantastic 2024 season. Understandably, Boston supporters find it hard to believe.
Red Sox Nation is unsure about whether to take the buzz surrounding Trevor Story seriously.
However, this year could be distinct. Story is performing well at spring training, and his coaches have attested to the improvements he has made to his game.
“I think his off-season program was excellent, and this is the first time he’s had a structure like this in three years. He’s very explosive.” Story’s hitting coach Pete Fatse told The Boston Herald (subscription needed) “I think that’s going to be huge for him.”
Story’s first healthy offseason in a Red Sox uniform occurred in the winter of 2023–2024, and he has never had more time to get ready for a full baseball season with Boston. After starting slowly and striking out frequently in his spring training, Story’s stats have improved and now stand at.350 with a 1.035 OPS, reflecting his summer work.
