Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals reveal terms of agreements for historic community benefits valued at over $260 million.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals have revealed the details of their historic Community Benefits Agreements (CBAs) with Jackson County. Should voters approve Question 1 on the upcoming April 2 ballot, these agreements will commit over $260 million to a wide range of initiatives that support the county’s residents. When taken as a whole, they constitute the largest CBAs in Kansas City’s history, exceeding every single-agreement before to this one, including the most recent one pertaining to the new terminal at Kansas City International Airport.

Chief executive officer and chairman of the Kansas City Chiefs Clark Hunt stated, “We went into this process with the intention of creating a better deal for all of Jackson County.” These CBAs provide as a clear example of such. There will be a genuine, quantifiable impact on our whole community if Question 1 is passed. We appreciate everyone’s unceasing efforts in making sure these accords will have the most positive impact on our region.

These CBAs come on top of the more than $200 million in financial assistance that the Chiefs and Royals have given Jackson County by removing its need to pay park levies and stadium insurance fees to the clubs. Moreover, the County and the broader Kansas City area already get millions of dollars in support from the Hunt Family Foundation and the Kansas City Royals Foundation.
