Report : Former New Orleans Saints safety Marcus Maye drawing interest from multiple teams during free agency

The New Orleans Saints released veteran safety Marcus Maye earlier this offseason. His two-year experience with the Black and Gold was unsatisfactory, but he deserves a second opportunity elsewhere.

Maye is attracting interest from a number of teams and will visit the Tennessee Titans on Monday, according to Dianna Russini.

Reunions were out of the question for New Orleans. They are trying to replace him with a fresh talent to join Jordan Howden and Tyrann Mathieu in the secondary.

Maye appeared in 17 games with the Saints. During his two seasons in New Orleans, he had many injuries and served a suspension. At this stage in his career, he is primarily a depth player for most clubs.

Expect the Saints to pursue at least one impactful veteran safety in free agency, and they’d be wise to draft one as well.

New Orleans recently extended Mathieu’s contract for two more years. Howden showed amazing flashes last season and could play a bigger role in 2024.
