Breaking News : Leeds United set to end Elland Road career of star huge high after Phil Hay’s summer transfer insight

Leeds United left-back Junior Firpo’s contract expires in 2025, and the club may consider offers in the summer if they are promoted to the Premier League.

The Whites intend to play in the Premier League next season, and their progress in 2024 has placed them squarely in contention for the Championship crown this season.

Daniel Farke’s side has won 11 of their past 12 games this season, and Junior Firpo’s return to form has been a significant boost.

According to Phil Hay of The Athletic, Leeds are considering listening to offers for Firpo this summer, despite his recent resurgence.

Firpo has five assists this season, all since New Year’s Day, but promotion back to the Premier League will force the club to reconsider.

Firpo, a £13 million acquisition from Barcelona, signed a four-year contract with Leeds until the summer of 2021, which will keep him at the club until 2025, putting him in the final year of his contract next season.

Staying up at Brentford on the final day of 21/22 reduced Firpo to tears before the full-time whistle blew, demonstrating what it means to be at Leeds and succeed with the Whites.

However, gaining promotion would be an excellent way to conclude his stay at the club following a difficult year with us.

He’s been plagued by injuries and inconsistency whenever he’s played, but he now appears to be an important part of the team as it prepares for promotion.

The club may be correct to contemplate selling Firpo because it may be the last chance we have to get a good price for him with his contract expiring in the summer of 2025, and it is reasonable to think we will need to improve in the Premier League regardless.
