Tiger Woods now trun down prestigious Seminole Pro-two weeks after golf legend was forced to withdraw from his PGA Tour return at the Genesis Invitational

Fans will get to see Tiger Woods sooner than they expected as it was confirmed that the golf great will tee it up on Monday.

The 48-year-old’s much anticipated return to the PGA Tour at Riviera Country Club was cut short last month when he was forced to withdraw six holes into the second round of the Genesis Invitational due to sickness.

Many have assumed that the 15-time major winner will play the Arnold Palmer Invitational or The Players Championship later this month, but it was revealed on Saturday that Woods’ next start will be the Seminole Pro-Am on March 4.Woods will compete in the famous Seminole pro-member event alongside Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Tony Finau, Collin Morikawa, Cameron Young, and Nelly Korda, as well as an amateur field that includes NFL star Tom Brady.

Woods will play alongside PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh, Thomas, and Mike Walrath, with the foursome set to tee off at 7.47am ET at the Florida course. It will be Woods’ first time competing in the event, although he has yet to confirm his participation in either the Arnold Palmer Invitational or The Players Championship, which are set for March 7-10 and March 14-17, respectively.

Meanwhile, no LIV Golf players have been invited to the event as negotiations between the rebel circuit’s sponsor, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, and the PGA Tour continue.

McIlroy will depart at 8.32 a.m. ET with his father, Gerry, three-time major champion Padraig Harrington, and PGA Tour chairman Ed Herlihy.

Woods withdrew from the Genesis after experiencing ‘flu-like symptoms’ and approaching the second round with a temperature, according to his business partner and close friend Rob McNamara.

He began the day hovering around the cut line after shooting a one-over-par 72 round yesterday, punctuated by a hard shank on the 18th hole at Riviera Country Club, which he blamed on a back spasm.

However, McNamara stated that his withdrawal from the event on Friday had nothing to do with his back.

Fans have become accustomed to seeing the legend fail to make it to the weekend. He stated that it was not physical in nature. ‘His back is OK. It was all medical disease, dehydration, and now that he has an IV, his symptoms are reversing.

Initially, it was believed that Woods would leave Riviera in an ambulance, but a paramedic later contradicted this.

In one camera footage, he can be seen putting his head in his hands while being dragged away.

It was another troubling scenario for golf fans, who have become accustomed to seeing the superstar miss the weekend since his horrific car accident in 2021.
