Alan Rogers is perplexed as to why Brighton player Jakub Moder was not sent off after a horrific tackle on Nottingham Forest striker Neco Williams yesterday.
The former left-back took to Twitter this morning to express his surprise about the incident.
So, what did Rogers make of the tackle that should have reduced Brighton to ten men versus Forest? Let’s look more closely.
Alan Rogers surprised at one occurrence during Nottingham Forest’s encounter.
Forest appear to have been done again, and they should have spent more time playing against less men in this one.
Moder’s tackle was out of control and utilized excessive power, resulting in Michael Salisbury receiving a yellow card on the field.
Craig Pawson was the VAR, and he strangely did not think it was terrible enough to overturn the yellow in favor of a red, much to the surprise of everyone affiliated with Forest.
Rogers can’t believe what he saw in the Forest game this morning, and the former defender is outraged that no more action was taken. He tweeted:
Rogers is right to be startled; nevertheless, Reds fans are used to it now.
It’s becoming a running joke that Forest keeps losing Premier League decisions this season.
However, the Reds have played against 10 men on occasion this season and looked worse, so it is unlikely that they would have received a different outcome yesterday.
Moder’s tackle was nothing but a joke. In actuality, it’s incredible that Williams avoided serious damage, and something has to give with these match officials.
Rogers is correct in criticizing the officials’ judgment during Forest’s setback, but the squad must now start taking care of business on its own.
Hopefully, luck will change between now and the end of the season, because Forest desperately needs some good fortune.
