(Breaking)Green Bay Packers just got massive free agency update

The Green Bay Packers have a one-of-a-kind opportunity this offseason. One of the team’s most pressing needs in 2024 is safety. In recent memory, there has not been a more diverse Safety free agent class than the one in 2024.

However, one Safety was recently released and might quickly rise to the top of the Packers’ list.

There is a glut of safety candidates in the NFL’s 2024 free agent market.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reports that the Denver Broncos have released Pro Bowl safety Justin Simmons. Later, the team announced the relocation.

“Justin Simmons’ impact as a Denver Bronco extends far beyond his exceptional play during eight seasons with our organization,” the team said in a statement.

“Justin will always be a Bronco, and we appreciate how well he represented our organization both on and off the field.” We wish Justin, his wife Taryn, and his children Laney, Shae, and Kyler all the best in the future.

Simmons has played consistently well over the last few years. He has been named to the Pro Bowl or All-Pro team every season since 2019, with 23 interceptions, 51 passes defended, and five forced fumbles to his credit.

Although he is a ballhawk, the former third-round selection is more than that. The 297 individual tackles he has made since the beginning of 2019 show that he is a very trustworthy last line of defense. Simmons’ importance to the Packers should skyrocket as a result of the tackling issues they faced last season, particularly in the playoffs.

Green Bay has a fantastic opportunity to address this issue, given the most recent safety developments on the open market. Simmons is the latest safety to be released, following Jamal Adams, Jordan Poyer, and Quandre Diggs. Other free agents include Xavier McKinney and Kyle Dugger.

Even with all of the major names in free agency, it’s difficult to say much about Justin Simmons right now.
