Great deal: Detroit Lions in Agreement with Baltimore Ravens to trade Quarterback Jared Goff worth $65.9million
Prior to the Carolina Panthers using the franchise tag on Brian Burns, the Detroit Lions, Baltimore Ravens, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were seen to be better fits for the pass rusher. There are undoubtedly many positive aspects to his game, particularly his natural talent for defense.
With just two victories and fifteen defeats at the end of the previous season, the Panthers had the worst record in the NFL. Out of 32 teams, their offense was ranked 31st in the league, and their defense was ranked 29th.
Burns was one of the few bright spots for Carolina last season, despite the team being painfully awful overall. The Panthers star, who is 25 years old, has a lot of upside. He made at least 7.5 sacks in each of his first five seasons, which is proof of this.
As of right now, Burns’ next contract was expected to pay him $108 million. However, the terms of his long-term contract and its value are still unknown because the Panthers placed him under a franchise tag.
The Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Baltimore Ravens were thought to be the best teams for Burns before he signed a contract with the Panthers. In his piece, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox provided additional details.
