Inconceivable: NFL Scouting Combine invitation for Ohio State running back and Winton Woods graduate Miyan Williams

Columbus, Ohio — Running back Miyan Williams of Ohio State has received an invitation to take part in the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis later this month.

The Indianapolis Colts’ home field, Lucas Oil Stadium, will host the combine from February 29 to March 3.

During his time at Ohio State, Williams—a 2020 graduate of Winton Woods High School—ran for 1,555 yards and 20 touchdowns. Over the course of his first three seasons with the Buckeyes, he ran for 1,397 yards and 17 touchdowns.

In 2023, Williams participated in six games. In 158 rushes, he scored three touchdowns.

On October 31, the Associated Press revealed that Williams, a fourth-year player, sustained an injury that ended his season. Oct. 21 saw Ohio State defeat visiting Penn State 20–12; he ran for 62 yards and a touchdown. Soon afterward, he underwent surgery that ended his season.

Eight Buckeyes have been invited to the combine, including Williams, who announced his intention to enter the NFL Draft in December. Marvin Harrison Jr., a wide receiver, will work out with Williams on the field on March 2. Over the previous 12 seasons, 94 Ohio State players have been invited to the combine.

In November 2019, the runner-up for Ohio Mr. Football 2018 made a verbal commitment to Ohio State. The Winton Woods athletic department reports that during his high school football career, he ran for 5,823 yards and 68 touchdowns.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association’s all-time list for the most career rushing yards includes his total.
