Ronnie O’Sullivan celebrates with Ivan Toney after beating Trump to win World Grand Prix

Following the Rocket’s victory over Judd Trump in Sunday’s World Grand Prix, Brentford striker Ivan Toney celebrated with Ronnie O’Sullivan and his father. The football player scored in a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest shortly after serving an eight-month suspension for breaking the FA’s betting policies. Toney participated in taking pictures with his son, the snooker legend, in images that Ronnie O’Sullivan Sr. posted. Only one week after rallying from behind to win his seventh Masters title against Ali Carter, the Rocket was in a good mood after overcoming Trump once more.
Although O’Sullivan and Toney’s relationship is unknown, the Brentford charmer’s father was a promising snooker player who had faced off against players like Alex Higgins and Jimmy White in the past.

In 2022, Toney remarked, “I have always liked and appreciated snooker.” “My dad could play it really well once. In addition to frequently facing elite club players, he also faced notable players such as Jimmy White, Alex Higgins, and others in exhibition or club matches.

“He wasn’t far from reaching the professional ranks, but after losing some crucial games, it was shelved. There is very little margin for error and a lot of skill involved in snooker. Some really good players have come out of there or established themselves there, according to Northampton.

“When I was younger, I watched Rory McLeod at the Barratts Snooker Club in Northampton. I believe Peter Ebdon and Kyren Wilson have also played there. My biggest mishap? I can reach a maximum of 40. And without a doubt, Ronnie O’Sullivan is my favorite player. I admire that he is aggressive on every shot and wants to pot the ball.

“He expresses his desires, but he backs them up by succeeding at everything. I would be thrilled to see the documentary on him released. I would really like to visit the World Championship and the Crucible, as I haven’t been there before. It usually occurs during a pivotal period of the season.

Many snooker fans saw Toney when he was in Leicester for the World Grand Prix final. He was also present in the 2020 Masters final, where Stuart Bingham beat Carter.

After serving out his suspension, he was able to take a vacation from his hectic football schedule to celebrate the World Grand Prix triumph with the O’Sullivans and enjoy the life every snooker fan dreams of.
