WATCH: Dolphins OLB Jaelan Phillips takes ‘first steps’ since season-ending injury
Jaelan Phillips was having a fantastic season when he suffered a non-contact injury that terminated it suddenly. This was another harm that one of our own people had suffered at the hands of MetLife Stadium.
Losing a player of Phillips’ caliber for the rest of the season was heartbreaking. However, one thing was certain: Miami’s gifted pass-rusher would not be stopped by anything. He is, after all, one of football’s top EDGE, Jaelan Phillips. And if there’s one thing we know about him from his 2021 draft selection, it’s that not many athletes put in as much effort as No. 15.
He demonstrated yesterday that his return will be even more spectacular than his decline by updating followers on social media.
Pre-injury, the former 15th overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft was recording 43 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and 11 quarterback hits in one of his greatest seasons. It appeared as though Phillips would surpass his career high of 61 tackles and 8.5 sacks with a little over half of the season remaining, but sadly, that wasn’t going to happen this year.
When he does, of course, return next season, you can bet your bottom dollar that Phillips will be a whole new player. And your days as an NFL quarterback might be numbered if you find yourself against the Dolphins in 2024. #RemainStrong, Jaelan
How do you feel about Jaelan Phillips? Do you concur that his game still has a level left?
